Im getting ready to order upper and lower control arms on a 07 limited is there an opinion on what are the best ones to get and where to order them?? Im thinking a kit with ball joints and tierod ends and maybe swaybar links thanks to those who know..

I prefer MOOG, but found Motorcraft on Rockauto at one time discounted....
SO Motorcraft or moog. Im not a fan of the "kits" online.

I ended up getting an all moog "kit" but i had to make it a kit lol I ordered each side separately. now for the fun to begin on the install!!!!! thanks

I want to put the 22" Ford Edge Sport wheels on my '08 ST. I have worn ball joints, and don't know a THING about suspension. Should I just put the factory-type parts on the truck, knowing I'm going to be changing wheels?

Also, what size tires should I be looking to put on my '08 ST, if I put the 22" Edge Sport wheels on her?

Thanks!!!

JC

30?? 18 and 15 and 24...… Also you MUST torque the bolts at ride height.... suspension loaded, if not you will blow out the bushing again.....

What I do is assemble light torque.... Put the tire on, then lower on the ground and carefully loosen each bolt 1 at a time and then torque to spec...… Follow the spec, if too loose they will shift and move.... Ive had alignment guys f that up and had to re doo alignments a week later...

Okay, so is $600 fair to replace the ball joints, and to align the vehicle? I just don't work on suspension, but I thought it was a couple hundred higher than I'd think was right.

Oh, and my mechanic that I trust said Moog used to be really good, but kinda sucks now. They're going to use something else (I'll have to ask what it is), but they said it's way better, because I said I found the Moog joints for $51/per side. What they're wanting to use is $75/side. I didn't get what brand they're wanting to use. But they said Moog used to be awesome, but have gone downhill, since they were outsourced overseas...

I would change the whole arm.... easier, no pressing and uppers are welded anyway.. I still like moog, Don't like Detroit axle... movetech is ok... Get Motorcraft from rock auto... OEM and easy, close in price too. alignment is close to $150.... 600 total is not bad at all.

I was quoted $1,000. to do all four. Have you looked into buying the rubber bushings and ball joints seperatly? I bet it is less than 1/2 hour labor more.

I knew MOOG parts to be good, in the past. I have one guy that I've used for everything that wasn't super-high-end work (meaning, suspension, ect.; very different than the shop I use for superchargers/turbos/power-adders/etc.). They guy I use for suspension parts said that MOOG parts are now near garbage. And MOOG is what I was looking at to replace my lower-ball-joints. Are MOOG parts now garbage?

Okay, so $600 isn't crazy? I thought it was, given just replacing two suspension parts, that were about $60/each. But, with that being $120 for the parts, and, figure another 200 for the work, and then also another $100 or so for the alignment, I guess 600 isn't terrible, if they do GOOD work, which my trusted mechanic does. However, he charged me almost $800 to change the plugs and coil-packs on my '08.

Now, mine needed the plugs and coil-packs changed, BIG TIME! :) They didn't break a plug, and that's where the big expense came. What do ya'll think? Went from the 2-piece design, to now have single-piece design. Was $800-ish fair for that?

I thought it fair-ish, as it was roughly $400 for the parts. They charged me another $400-ish to replace the plugs and coil-packs.

I HATE that I sold my 2010 GT500. Only had 23K miles on her. I'm looking for an Adrenaline (and, then, only one that's a 8-v, 4X4 (or AWD). Really pissed that I sold my GT500, as she was such a good girl!!! But, I can tweak a 2015+ GT into similar.

Can't find anything for sale for what I'm looking for. Will likely have to talk to a Ford dealer, and tell them black or very very dark grey car. I can add SC or Turbo after the fact.

Will have to keep looking for the Adrenaline-truck I'm looking for. They just don't have them in Oklahoma! I'll spend the $600'ish to fix my lower ball joints. I'll have to keep shopping for the '22 Edge Sport wheels that I'd love for my truck. :)
