Is there a forum for "Body"? I have a question about tailgate badge.

I'm looking for suggestions for what to use to attach my Explorer Sport Trac XLT badge to my tailgate. I had to replace my tailgate with a used one and I removed the badge from it (XLS) with a heat gun and fishing line, need to reattach the correct badge. Thanks.

DVDSWAN 02 Sport Trac Build/Maintenance thread

I found a used 2003 (my Trac is 2004) tailgate at a salvage yard for $100. I just swapped out the handles, so I have my original tailgate handle in the new (used) tailgate. There is nothing more involved in removing the handle than removing the tailgate plastic liner (used a special tool to pop...

DVDSWAN 02 Sport Trac Build/Maintenance thread

I am actually going to replace my dented tailgate. So I want to get a used one at a salvage yard. But of course I want my current key (which works the ignition, doors, bed cover, and dented tailgate) to work in the replacement tailgate. Should I swap out my current lock cylinder, and install in...

Did you ever figure this out? I need to get a used tailgate from a salvage yard, but am wondering what the best course of action would be: 1. swap out the used tailgate locking mechanism, installing the current one I have (so the same key will work) or 2. get the replacement tailgate lock...

I used #30 torx to remove the screws near the top of the tailgate liner, now I just have to figure out how to get the plastic fasteners out; I guess I just pull hard? I think they are what you call xmas tree fasteners, so they should be cheap to replace. LMK if you have any tips for removing...
