    Orange sport trac

I bought mine in 04'... even then they spouted rumors about closing the plant and discontinuing the Sport Trac. My bet is they'll continue the product and that it will always be an ongoing rumor. I'll only believe they're closing when they actually do it. Just my $.02 but I don't have an...

    Orange sport trac

My competition orange is 2004. They had another in 2008. I'm hoping for 2012 at this point. I'll be ready to replace my 04' about then.

    10k already

My 2004 is at 125,000... Nothing too bad has happened yet. Steering wheel is looking a bit worn at about 90,000 miles. Probably going to get a cover. Armrest vinyl split where my elbow sits at 100,000 miles. Recovered w/Leather Tranny pan gasket leaked at 115,000 miles. Replaced it with...

    Changing Rear Window "Vent"

What works really well is to also vent the sunroof. That, or crack the back two windows... lots of airflow then.

Lower my ST and got pinned underneath!!!

My younger brother (about 17 at time) was doing a brake job once. I went out to the garage to check on him and noticed he had it precariously perched on some loosely stacked bricks. Freaking out about it, I argued with him to cease at once and block it up properly and argued it was going to...

    Cruise control issue

I am having this very problem on my 2004 4x4 Adrenaline... bugging the heck outta me just today. Normally it will eventually set but today I took a long 1 hr drive and it would never stick and stay on. I'd love to see the answer to this so I can fix it. Hey... I never got a letter either...

    transmission gone

I for one would give deep consideration to moving on, stepping away from it... 200K is a long life. If you do fix the tranny, consider selling it and letting somebody else deal with the engine life. If you hang on to it too much longer after fixing the tranny, you may endd up footing the bill...

    Transmission Leak

Just an update... It was the gasket on the drain pan afterall. It took a while to leak but I went on a long trip today. Just after I got home, I crawled under there and found where it was leaking. It was leaking near the corner. Once I stuck a wrench on it, the bolt was looser than the rest...

    Oil filter

I have just switched to Mobil 1 EP and am using their brand of filter also EP = Extended Performance. I figure keeping the brands together is best. Got it all from Amazon. Go to Mobils website, they have a rebate if you buy the fluid and filter together. I am planning to do my oil changes at...

    Transmission Leak

Alright, here is the update. It dried off over Monday night, then last night (Tues.) I looked all under it with it up on ramps. I couldn't see where it might have leaked overnight. I started it and ran it idle for like 30 minutes or so and no apparent runaway leak could be found. I decided to...

    Transmission Leak

I may have just answered my own question. Per link below, it says it should take 4 qts. I had it hot & idling while I filled w/fluid and it drank about 5 and 1/2 qts before it was in the crosshatch of the dipstick. Did I really do this rookie mistake? Somebody tell me how much it was...

    Transmission Leak

2004 4x4 Sport Trac Okay, so I developed some leaking somewhere on my transmission... pretty good leak. I assumed it to be the gasket on the pan so I dropped the pan last weekend changed the filter, gasket, & installed a plug. I put Mobil 1 ATF Multi-Vehicle (Merc V Equiv.) I tightened...
