    Ticking noise

What you suggest sounds like the most likely suggestion. I’ve made an appointment with a mechanic who specializes in Fords to have a look at the front drive train. Thanks for your suggestion!

    Ticking noise

Thanks for the suggestions. It is definitely in the drive train, seems concentrated in the driver’s side front. Is worse with 4WD engaged. Noise rises and falls with speed.

    Seats!!!

There is a difference though. On the inside of the seat bottom (next to the console), there is fabric instead of leather. If you install a passenger-side seat bottom, the fabric side will face out. It doesn’t look as attractive.

    Front End Noise

2003 4x4. 400,000km. I am getting a grinding sound from the front end, but only when 4wd is engaged. The sound is similar to a piece of metal rubbing against a gear. Doesn’t seem to change when turning to left or right. Ideas?

Really BAD grinding noise from ??

If you have a bad wheel bearing, it can cause the hub to rotate off center, and this will move the ABS tone ring either away from, or closer to the ABS wheel sensor. When that happens, it will throw an ABS code causing the light to come on. You may also notice irregularities in your steering.

Front end grinding when turning deep

I’m having the same noise. It is caused by the tire contacting the plastic inner fender liner. Easiest fix is to locate where it’s rubbing and cut away the offending part. They get brittle with age and don’t stay put where they should.
