I just chk'ed prices on Mercon V and got anything form $8 to $50, does that sound right ? Any pointer on how to siphon trans-fluid and/or change the filter ? I have siphoned a lot of gas, but never trans oil.

This guy stated that the fluid was red and looked good, so should I still be changing it ? I don't have a garage where I can pull the pan off right now, can I just go forward w/siphoning a quart and replacing it ?\ What fluid should I be replacing it with ?

I finally got my SporTrac into a trans shop to have them try and diagnose the issue w/Harsh reverse engagement. They called back and stated that they drove it, but didn't see any issue. He did stated that after the truck is warmed up there was somewhat of a harsh reverse engagement, but nothing...

Here is a video of trans repair with the described issue (harsh reverse) the same as what I am experiencing. Does the reverse servo typically fail ? In the video they totally skip why the trans was behaving that way. Thanks

I found a shop that stated they could change the fluid, gasket and filter (basic trans service) for $125. He stated that they do not have the equip' to flush the system, so all they really change is 1/3 of the fluid. Does this sound correct ?

Did you supply power to the pin that turn on the sub-woofer ?

Dillard000, So if I am at 175k miles and have not had any trans service done since 110k, should I just go to a trans shop and have all the work done ? (fluid, gasket,O-rings ....) Thanks

So what would your recommendation be ? If the trans fluid has not been changed for some-time, would replacing the trans-fluid cause my hard-shift problem to resolve its self ? Thanks

My rear back window (middle) only has 3 positions: Up, Dn, 1" crack. Has anyone changed this so that they roll the middle window to any position ? Thanks
