    Helper springs?

I've add-a-leaf and they have worked well. Raises it 1-2 and stiffens the springpack a bit.

Trimming inner wheel well for 33s on 10x15" wheels

I cut back the back of the fender on mine. I removed the plastic trim, then took a sawzall and a heavy hammer to pound the metal back to get more clearance. Then I reinstalled the plastic trim and used a heat gun to soften it and have it bend back further to match the metal clearance underneath.

Extended Travel CV Axle Half Shafts

Got a email back from Trakmotive: Thanks for your interest in our XTT axles. Those particular axles aren’t available quite yet. I would say within the next month or so. When they are released but your local auto parts store should be able to order the axles from their nearest distributor...

Extended Travel CV Axle Half Shafts

Update on the extended travel and angle cv axles -- I just checked their website this evening out of idle curiosity and bam! Trakmotive has added P/Ns for Ranger/Explorer/Sport Trac on their updated product flyer! Product Info I haven't found the P/Ns listed at any retailers yet, but I...

Extended Travel CV Axle Half Shafts

So a diff drop bracket to go along with a suspension A-arm lift, right? But they come with diff drop brackets. Can't do it alone can you? Gotta drop the lower A-arm as well or the CV shaft coming out of the dropped diff wont clear. Unless I'm missing something, which is likely.

    3" Body lift Question

I agree on replacing the body mount bushings while you are at it. I did that when I did the 3" body lift on mine, and yes I found several that were disintegrating. The lift kit comes with the steering shift extension. IF you have a manual transmission, you'll need the optional shifter extender.

Extended Travel CV Axle Half Shafts

I posted this in the Explorer forum, but thought there might be Sport Trac guys like me that like to offroad. I was checking into Trakmotive and their extended travel CV axles they now offer. They don't list them for front SLA IFS Ford Ranger/Explorer/Sport Trac, but I got word from their sales...

    Hello from Arizona

Yeah, welding vertical sheet metal behind 2 bars might be a good idea. I ended up building it myself. Between the original bumper being kinda of broken and rattling on one side, and now having my own MIG welder(!) I thought I'd go for it. The goal was to maximize clearance, but still tow...

    4wd clunky

Leland, If you are still around, is it clunking while you are moving? IF so I think I had a 4x4 problem kinda similar. It would pop into and out of 4x4. I tore into the TC and replaced everything that had some wear, but problem still there and ended up being the shift motor. It was the...

    Hello from Arizona

Hi all. Long time lurker. Was a member back in the old days on the old site. You guys have helped me with some great info I've used over the years. Thought I should start giving back. Done some mods and have been doing a lot of exploring out on the primitive roads here in AZ. I've got a red...
