Went with a used car this time (2010 Accord Crosstour V6), so I won't be looking for another truck for 3-4 years (when this car likely goes to my 13-year-old). When I do, I hope the "compact" truck market is better than it is now. I don't need a full-sized truck, but compact ones are almost as...
Just wanted to drop a note of thanks to the board for the advice over the 16+ years I owned my 2001 ST. I saved a lot of money and skipped a lot of headaches thanks to the projects, wisdom and help I found here.
In the end, the ST just needed too much work for me to keep, so this morning it...
I think I'll be moving on from my '01 Trac soon (114K miles). When we bought my wife's car a year ago, I spoke to the dealer there about trade-in value, and he indicated he wasn't really interested in it at all (mainly due to issue #1 below). Given that the trade-in is likely to be worth less...
This isn't the one that's currently out, it's part of the Atlas concept that's coming as an SUV and they're showing the truck version to gauge interest. Based on responses I've seen, I'd bet the truck makes it to the US in a couple of years.
Fixed it at lunch. Intention was to use Loctite, but I stopped at Advance Auto Parts and couldn't get the truck into Park. Was afraid I wouldn't be able to start it again, so I just went home and screwed the bolt back in. Pain in the ass to reach up there, but I got in without having to remove...
So...yesterday my 2001 ST, which I already know has transmission issues, started doing something else odd.
The column shifter seems loose and it became hard to get it into park. I figured out that if I drop it all the way down, then move it all the way back up I can get it into park, but it's...
The K-Cover on my 2001 isn't water tight either (though it was better when I first got it than it is now, 14 years later or so). It does a pretty good job of keeping most water out, but I wouldn't put anything back there that I wasn't ok with getting at least a little splashed if it rained...
Yeah! Ended up being the negative battery terminal after all.
It looked ok, but the cable was white and corroded inside the sheath. Cut it back a bit, clamped on a new $4 terminal and it's good to go.
