2001 Silver Frost 4x4
I own a Silver Frost 4WD model. I ordered the convenience pkg.,cloth comfort group, and sport pkg. as well as the limited slip rear axle, ext. cage, and toneau cover. I love to camp and travel. My wife and I drove to Colorado Springs in August 2001 with some friends(an Expedition and a yuck-Chevy ext. cab pickup) to go 4 wheeling in the Rockies with a friend who lives out there. We camped on the trail. This vehicle was perfect for this. I have installed a CB radio in the console. I installed the leverlift II and love it.
For 2002, I installed a Hidden Hitch Class 3 receiver and Tekonsha Voyager brake controller to pull my new Keystone 20 ft. travel trailer. Works great, but could use a little more power for the hills. This is for when we don't want to rough it.
For 2003, I installed the EE anti-sway bar I bought myself for Christmas. It was a great improvement over the stock bar. Next I added a K & N cone filter I removed from my F-150 before trading it. I removed the stock airbox but retained the stock air hose because the F-150 K & N one wouldn't adapt. I had to drill some extra holes in the adapter plate, but it works real well. Next I installed Rancho 5000 shocks all the way around. Not much improvement over stock. I hoped it would help with the trailer towing. This weekend (6/28) I just installed a Gibson catback exhaust. I love the sound and can't wait to see if it helps when towing. Unfortunately I didn't get it in time for a trip to the Outer Banks. I towed my trailer again and aside from bogging down in the mountains of WV on I-64, it did great.
Sept.11, 2008 update: Since my last update I have been out west (as far as Nevada) 3 times with my ST. The trip to Nevada, my son and I along with some friends did quite a bit of desert and mountain 4-wheeling. This summer I took it to the sand dunes in Michigan with over 130k miles on the odometer. It did great! Even climbed better than some stock Jeeps. See the link for pictures of these trips. By the way my Gibson exhaust muffler rusted off this spring. Gas mileage suddenly got better after i put a generic NAPA exhaust on. Go figure!
