Here is one I bought a few years ago the ford tag say 08JAN2020. PN: 7A2Z-4A499-A. I found it at PARTSGEEK.

Tcobra, You can also checkout tread “GEN2 STA Performance Brakes”, that might give you some options on Upgrading the Brake System. Good luck.

    Scale Suspension

Tcobra, Myself along with many others have went through the same experience with Scale Suspension coils harsh ride. Lucky for you, As one of our forum member put it “Everest has been Climbed”. I ended up contacting QA1 technical Hotline (Scott), he crunched all the Force Ratios & suspensions...

    Scale Suspension

You might try looking up all the Ford truck or suv models for the front or rear lower shock/strut, maybe you will get lucky and find a match. I last time I checked with Ford the OEM bolt was like $80 per bolt, but it’s discontinued now days. Maybe a Grade8 bolt is the way to go. Let us know what...

    Scale Suspension

Good times right there. $500 install isn’t bad at all. One thing I forgot to mention is that your mechanic will have to trim / grind off the a flat spot on the front shock top plate cause it hits the Inboard side of the shock tower. See attached photo.

Blown09, Good sir where did you snag that SR71 photo? I use to work the taxi way to Black Bird Park in Palmdale, Ca. while I did a stent at Northrop Plant 42 back in the day.

    The Low Down

I think my QA1 have settled maybe 1/4”-1/2”, but in about 50 miles I’ll reevaluate the ride height. I couldn’t be happier with the handling and ride characteristics. I’m on to the body mods in order to get it closer to the actual concept truck except a SC B326 stroker is on the love list as...

    The Low Down

Blown09, Here is a photo weight on wheels (rear). My ride height is 31.5”, center rear wheel opening to the ground.

    The Low Down

Here is my rear coil over shown with 2” of compressed preload. After I drove the truck a day, I had to reduce the preload down to 1” of preload (550lbs). I thought mine would be close to binding the coils but actually it worked out fine.

    The Low Down

Sounds good, certainly let me know how your STA rides after you get a few miles on it. I have to get a few more miles on my spring to see how much they settle.

    The Low Down

Blown09, The install was straight forward. Also make sure you order two (2) sets of the 2.5” trust bearings pn: 7888-109, so the bottom preload collar turns easier during spring preloading. I ordered mine from SPEEDWAY MOTORS, they arrived in a few day.

    The Low Down

Hello Gearheads, As I mentioned a few posts ago, I have been on the hunt for a solution to replace the Scale Suspension very stiff coil springs / ride. I know this subject can be argued all day, but in my case the SS coil spring rate was just to high for the quality ride I was wanting at the...
