Tranny flush helped but not fixed

Actually I replaced it as soon as I realized what had happened. It has been running like a champ with no slippage or any other problems. Everything so often stupid works. Thanks for all the help. I am good for now. It has been about 10 days and no issues.

Tranny flush helped but not fixed

This took a weird turn. I went to my national chain parts store to get the filter and tranny fluid. I told the guy I need Mercon V. He got the parts and put them in a bucket a part of some promotion (get the bucket, get a break). I live in Miami and it was 90+, super high humidity and...

Tranny flush helped but not fixed

I think I may try rebuilding the valve body and give that a shot. After that I will probably have to hit a tranny shop. Any recommendations on a valve body kit? I have seen some positive reviews for the Sonnax kit.

    2004 sport trac for parts

If you still have this there are 3 things I would like. The drives side rear drip moulding (the one going from the roof rails to the back window). The tailgate locking mechanism. The screws attaching the inner tailgate panel to the tailgate. Let me know.

Tranny flush helped but not fixed

I have a 01 with about 152K. I have been having some transmission slippage, particular when cold. I contacted the first owner and he never did a tranny service. I changed it out and the fluid was in bad shape and the screen on the filter was somewhat clogged. I replaced the fluid and...

    Tranny clunk when cold

I am going to start off with a nice flush. I am going to replace the filter and the gasket. Is the OEM the best filter or are the aftermarket filters better? I am using the truck as a daily driver and I don't do anything crazy with it. Once I see where I am at, I will probably do the...

    Tranny clunk when cold

I have ramps which should give me enough room to be comfortable. I fully expect to be wearing a fair amount of tranny fluid when done.

To do the valve body how long a time are you looking at? The tools did not look to complicated.

    Tranny clunk when cold

One other question. I saw a video from 1AAUTO talking about the valve body gasket replacement. How far should I take this? A simple fluid change. How hard is the valve body gasket job? It looked pretty messy but not too hard. I am pretty handy.

    Tranny clunk when cold

Contacted the original owner and I bought it with 132k. He told me he never had the tranny serviced so I am going to start there. On a basic transmission service what is everyone replacing. Obviously the filter and the pan gasket, but what else? Any kits to recommend. I have a 2WD with...

    Tranny clunk when cold

The OD light stays on if it clunks to hard. If you turn off the engine and back on again it disappears.
