The key fob on my main key ring went dead yesterday. Bought a new battery for it just now but it still doesn't work. Do I need to program it or anything?

Normally you shouldn't have to but you may need to. It's quite simple to do so. Just insert your key in the ignition and turn it to the on position 8 consecutive times rapidly. You will then see the Gauges light flash and the door locks will lock and unlock. Immediately press the lock or unlock button on the key fob. That should do the programming.

Well, this morning it started working on its own with no help from me. Maybe it just needed to be close to the truck for a while. I dunno.

The eight key cycle doesn't seem to do anything on my 2003 ST. One of my fobs works, but the other in which I replaced the battery, doesn't. I'd like to get both working but w/o the key-cycle method to enter program mode, no-can-do. Thoughts?
