No power to AC compressor

A/C clutch won’t engage.
System charged, replaced 10A fuse and relay. Still nothing.
Jumped relay pins in fuse box at 30 and 87a, clutch doesn’t engage.
Unplugged connector at AC, when those above jumped no power measured in connector plug.

Connected jumper direct to AC from battery, clutch engages.

Soooo….
Jumped the Low pressure switch, no change....left it jumped and jumped the High PS...no change, still no power to the AC plug when 30 and 87a jumped.
Further testing shows that there’s no power going across either jumped switch, as well as the AC connector plug…..
Tried all tests with ignition switch on, and off, and AC dash switch on and off…still nothing.

Saw a vid about an 06' Explorer that had a fuse in the inside fuse panel that was also associated to the AC...he stated that there was no identification in the manual about it?????

Check fuses 1-5 under hood. One of those should be related to an ac compressor and heater valve of equipped.

2 = Not used..no fuse in socket
3 = 30A Power Down Back Window..checks out ok
4 = Not used .. no fuse in socket
5 = Not used .. no fuse in socket

What year? Do u have forscan? If so you might can update the firmware on the IPC (speedometer) bc somehow it is directly related to the operation of the air compressor. Not sure if you’re year is but I can confirm 2009 Adrenalin does. I reflashed mine when it lost ac and wouldn’t crank and boom it started working as normal after flash of new firmware. And also gained a few new notifications on dash that weren’t there before like direction and something else I forget.

Mine is a 2001....I'm not familiar with what you're suggesting...will look into it...thanks again

Check out forscan.org you’ll get a better understanding of what it does if never used it. And the forum is great intel as well dealing with the computer systems of ford vehicles.

If you haven't fixed the AC yet, I would start at the 10 amp fuse and confirm power at the fuse insert hot to ground with ignition on. If no power there, you may have a harness/wiring problem. If power is present, reinsert the fuse and check for power at the selector switch after removing the bezel. If the blower comes on when AC is selected find the wires to power the compressor clutch and confirm power across the switch. You may have a bad connection or a faulty selector switch. In any case jump the clutch and run the compressor to circulate the refrigerant and confirm an outlet temp of about 42 degrees. Hope this helps. I jumped the relay and got my AC going good. Good luck.

It's not fixed as yet...took some time off working on it.
I just got a OBDLinkEX scan tool, and downloaded ForScan...but I indeed will review what I've done so far and how it addresses your suggestion...if it doesn't I'll try what you said....before having to go through all the paperwork on ForScan.

Hi DMJ. I've got an '03 Gen 1. That 's why I suggested the basic checks. Hopefully, you'll get it running. Don't forget the dialectic grease on all the connections as you move through the components. Hope it's a simple fix. Freezzzzeeee!!!

Awesome you’re gonna love forscan and the team at the forum. Idk if you went with the trial or paid version but if you’re comfortable with the modules and flashing the paid version is best. It has no limitations to PATs or modules. If you have the usb to obd cable it’ll pick up all modules and configuration data. Reach out if you have any hiccups or questions with anything. Changing as-built can be cumbersome at times bc the hex has to be changed first you can find tons of spread sheets on prefilled data for it so it’s easy to find. And forscan automatically does your checksum. I’ll help anyway just lmk.
