Hello, I just joined the site and hope that someone can help with my dilemma. I've seen some recommendations about replacing clock springs etc but thought that that is not the issue. So, I recently replaced the buttons and the wiring. I started to just change just the buttons but damaged the OEM wiring so I replaced it with the ribbon wiring included. Tightening the air bag leads to horn blow. Loosening these 2 bolts (a lot) will allow no horn blow but doesn't seem practical. CLUES: With the air bag removed the horn blow switches both see 12 volts but only the right switch blows the horn. I've switched out the switches to either side but only the right side blows the horn. I have not removed the steering wheel or messed with any other wiring to show me the clockspring is faulty. Prior to me installing the new buttons, horn worked fine and the air bag was tightened up. It seems that tightening up the air bag somehow cocks the horn blow switch (right side only on mine) causing horn to blow. A friend thought that I might have a ground issue?? and I saw today where someone recommended just hand tightening the horn blow switches, gonna give that a try but if you been through this and solved the problem would you please post the cure. Thanks Davfe

Hello to those looking at my post that may have a similar problem. So I had to use the truck and decide to leave off the air bag but I still could blow the horn on the right side horn blow switch. Getting on the highway I wanted to check if the cruise control was working, which was just flashing a dash light every 5 or 10 seconds. Nothing with cruise worked but when I pushed the off button, the friggin horn blows. Well, being the dumba-- I was in assembling the cable between the cruise control buttons, I found that I had to flip the left ribbon over so that both color coded wires were on top entering the left and right switches. Hope that makes sense but bottom line, make sure the wiring is correct. problem solved...onto the next one. Why isn't the cruise working? DavfeG
