Mystery solved......On my way home from work, the upper pulley between the alternator and the steering pump locked up and bent causing the serpentine belt to jump track. Turns out it was a bearing in the pulley. $21.00 for a new pulley and $50.00 for a new belt(it got chewed up) and no more...

I just went out and listened again, sounds like maybe the top wheel that the belt connects to could be the source. Does this thing have a bearing it it?

No the AC has no effect on it.

You know, I thought about that. It seems to be coming from the front of the engine where the alternator and power steering pump are. It is hard to tell which one. It seems to be coming from in between both. If it was alternator, wouldn't my battery be draining?

You will need to reset it. The best way I know is to unplug the negative terminal on your battery for about 15 to 30 minutes and then hook it back up.
