Group A body mount bushings estimate

Depends a LOT on corrosion. If the body mount bolts and hardware are free of rust it's a DIY job for most with the proper tools. I've replaced mine twice by myself in under four hours, but only changed the "B" and "C" orange foam mounts. Reason I had to do it twice was the first time I used OEM...

Replacement headlight units for '01 Sport Trac

Amazing what a $5 can or bottle of rubbing compound and some elbow grease can do. If broken or oxidized inside there are many aftermarket choices or you can replace with OEM.

    1st gen lift kits

Stock length torsion bolts should work fine using lift keys. Grinding the rounded dog points on the bolt ends is recommended so the bolt tips seat into the torsion key "dimples" properly. IIRC, rotating one 60 degree "flat" of the torsion key will give around 3 inches or more of lift or drop. I...

    New Wheels, part the 2nd

Funny you mention the '72 Gran Torino. My mom had a green '72 Sport with landau top and was almost the exact same car used in Clint Eastwood's 2008 film. Problem is it had the lethargic 400 2V engine choked with emissions. I was in high school when a 1970 Hemi Cuda loaded with four teenage kids...

    New Wheels, part the 2nd

Those new wheels are badass! Beautiful. 🤙 Owners with gloss black cars always say they're dirty. LOL Must say I've had one black vehicle in my life and cleaned it EVERY day. TEN coats of factory black on my long gone 1979 Ranchero. Nice, but I'll never own a HOT black vehicle again.

Transmission fluid change and when to perform differential service?

Factory service interval for the 5R55E is 90,000 miles. IMO, too far regardless of vehicle use. I did a complete ATF fluid exchange with filter at 60,000 miles. Caught a special years ago at my local dealership that included 20 quarts of Motorcraft Mercon V, filter, and gasket for $199. Don't...

Frame Bolt Hole for Front Right Sway Bar Bushing Bracket Bolt is Stripped….. Options?

Only saw useful answers, but to prevent any further conflict I've deleted three posts. @Kale D You're not the first that's had front sway bar frame bolt threads stripping. Ford had a "flag nut" repair kit available at one time but I'm coming up empty. IMO, your best option is retapping the...

    Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir

Agree. Hard to beat OE parts because you know they will fit. In a pinch I would use almost anything but Dorman. Poor fit and build quality from past experience, although the metal arm rest bracket they discontinued fit well and was solid.

Proper way to wire stereo and backup camera.

I would address your gauge cluster issues BEFORE attempting to wire your backup camera. Well known issue that many have solved. See CBM link on bottom. IIRC, there was a project for backup cam installation. Wayback Machine archives link...

Thought I'd bump this for joke of the day. Yes it's from 2018, but still worth a few laughs for those who haven't seen it. Thing is the OP wasn't joking and posted this exactly five months after April Fools Day. Believe it or not he's one of the owners of one of the Sport Trac pages on FB. What...
