    Battery Problem

I always ran the Motocraft in my 04 ST and they outlasted the warranty which is great for south Texas but my recent replacement was the Duracell Ultra Gold. My 2000 Harley FXDL and the 02 Boxster are both running Odessey AGMs and I have no complaints on either.

    Heater fan is dead

If you are going to guess between the two, the less expensive part is the way to go. But a cheap multimeter would tell you if there remains variable resistance across all connections on your resistor array using the ohms setting. Often just looking at failed resistors will show scorched or...

    Heater fan is dead

Rockauto.com and an hour or so will fixya.

    Heater fan is dead

There’s a high level of heat that accumulates in the dashboard however the fan is outside, in front of the firewall and is most likely the culprit. If it’s the resistors in the switch you haven’t lost much in light of the high probability that either would eventually fail.

    Heater fan is dead

I have also replaced my fan motor. It was easy and not at all expensive.

    Engine Not Cranking Over

Is there a post on tightening the shift lever on the steering column here? I’ve had a concern about moving out of neutral into drive for a while now. The action is mushy there but I don’t have a problem with any other through the field of motion. Just that one.

New led bulbs not working in back up lights

If you flip the bulbs and they don’t work you need to explore the BCM compatibility issue with LCD bulbs. I stay away from the LCDs on my 2002 Boxster for known issues such as this but haven’t had a problem with the ST.

New led bulbs not working in back up lights

Highly likely reversed polarity as a diode, the D in LED, only permits current to flow in one direction by design. Had the same issue with license plate lamps but they were easily reversed.

Should Tonneau cover locks match ignition key?

If you soak the rubber in very hot water for a while then juice it with dish soap you can work it back on with a plastic spudging tool.

    Best quiet drive belt

I like RockAuto for things like this. Guaranteed return if it is wrong, bigger selection, and drum roll, always more economical.

    2005 12V Bed Outlet doesn't work?

All my 12V outlets went out several years ago, the bed and 2 interior. Ford said it couldn’t be fixed without unwrapping wire bundles so I had them wire them all hot to battery.

Vehicle Wanted Looking for 4WD Sport Trac, relatively low mileage, very open to something built (lift/tires), but stock is fine

Forgot about all body bushings, leaf springs, shocks, and tie rod bushings with ball joints, upper and lower control arms.

Vehicle Wanted Looking for 4WD Sport Trac, relatively low mileage, very open to something built (lift/tires), but stock is fine

Forgot to add it has a lift key set on the torsion bars that raises the front end 4” to accommodate the new 265/70R16 Dueler H/T Alenza tire installed in June at Costco.

Vehicle Wanted Looking for 4WD Sport Trac, relatively low mileage, very open to something built (lift/tires), but stock is fine

I have an 04 XLT 4x4 am willing to part with. Was keeping it up for years waiting for the college student to decide to get a driver license but not going to happen. It’s a 5 window and only the driver seat shows wear on the interior. 160K miles new radiator, transfer case motor, transfer module...

    Rear window troubles

Thanks Dill I found a link from John Rock Elite Member in Memoriam to the scrbd.com document for reinitialization of the motor after I cleared the obstructions.

    Rear window troubles

Case solved with the actuator motor reinitialization process after pushing the weather strip away from the glass on both sides with some plastic prying tools. I also removed some decals on the outside which probably added to the friction. Only guessing but the weathered rubber must swell when...

    Rear window troubles

Ryan I have had the same problem with mine for years. Every time it got wet it would bind on the left side going up and drop back down. The dealership fixed it along with a driver side window actuator motor. That lasted about a year and started doing it again. It usually cleared up after several...

    Is this normal MPG??

My ‘04 gets 17 mpg under the best conditions on the highway, 14 or 15 in the city for driving a bit more aggressively. I have 160K miles but this hasn’t changed since I got it with 20K miles on it.

    Convert trac to caddy

You can get a superb ride with new shoes from Bridgstone albeit increased leaning on curves. I just installed DUELER H/L ALENZA PLUS 265/70R16 112T OWL ALL SEASON LUXURY SUV although the 255’s would suit your 2WD better. After running AT tires for the last 100K miles the difference in the ride...

    Convert trac to caddy

Wish I had bought the beefy sway bar when it was still available from the custom parts offerings of 10 years ago. I put 265/70R16 Dueler Alenza All Season Lux SUV tires on after a swaybar lift key provided the clearance but now I have to back off speed on the curves to avoid the hard lean.
