    Won’t start!

I think that explains why your starter quit humming/buzzing. My concern is how did that happen? Was it really dirty? Did a small pebble work its way inside the key cylinder? That part slides right off. I may have an old one around here. I'll look. I can't find a separate part number for...

Aloha: 2007 ST 2wd Suspension - shocks questions

@DaBoss If you want to learn this truck so that you can do some or most of your own work, you may want to invest in a 2007 Ford Sport Trac Shop and Service Manual. Look around the internet, and sometimes you can pick up a good deal on eBay. I like the old fashion book versions, but some...

    Won’t start!

One last thing, what codes are showing on your OBD2 reader?
  4. Evox

    Won’t start!

It's a fairly simple circuit. You turn your ignition key, which moves the ignition switch connections to contact and sends a signal to the solenoid on the starter. The solenoid closes, bridging the current from the hot battery connection to the wire going to the starter motor. The motor...

    Won’t start!

That's a good place to look, but if it's your starter motor humming, that doesn't sound like a neutral safety switch. That sounds like your starter isn't getting enough juice to turn. You replaced the battery cable, made sure all the connection lugs were clean and connected nice and tight, and...

    loss of power

I strongly recommend that you either get someone to pull all its current codes or buy yourself an OBD2 scanner. ...or we're going to be playing 20 guesses. It could be... Fuel sender unit Fuel rail pressure sensor Mass Airflow sensor ...or something else. Even a cheap OBD2 reader is better...

    Won’t start!

Is the humming noise coming from the starter motor? Did you put the starter in yourself?

    loss of power

A code reader (even a simple one) might be handy. I'd need more information to know where to even begin. OP, you say It seems like it stops getting fuel? How so? What does it do?

    2007 ST rear end suspension

I'm not familiar enough with the Gen 2s to give any useful advice. Hopefully, someone who has one will come along.

    Bad Vibration

Have you tried putting a torch on it? Fire is your friend when it comes to stubborn bolts. I'm in the southeast, and I wouldn't know what to do without my little friend.

My A/C has a mind of its own.

I can't remember the tolerances. But you access the compressor's clutch on 1st gen from the top, so no lift is required. In fact, come to think about it, it'd be a real pain in the ass to get to the compressor clutch from the bottom. Just behind the clutch, between the clutch pulley and the...

Truck goes crazy when key is out of the ignition, Instrument cluster goes on and off, beeps, ...but I don't think it's the actual instrument cluster.

My cluster problem isn't what typically fails. Typically stepper motors wear out, or cold breaks occur. Most circuit board repair services only replace stepper motors, light bulbs, and resolder cold breaks. ...they really aren't qualified to do anything else. The cold breaks occur because...

    Sport Trac Starter hookup

Glad I could help. I'm still confused because it sounds like you have an extra wire. All the wires going to the solenoid should have wire lugs attached to them unless the thieves cut the wires. You shouldn't have a bare wire.

    Sport Trac Starter hookup

There are three posts on the solenoid. One should already be attached to the starter itself. The small one I think you're talking about is the wire that carries the signal from your ignition switch. The only other wire to attach comes from your battery. Can you take a photo of what you're...

Aloha: 2007 ST 2wd Suspension - shocks questions

Dealerships are good for warranty and recall work. Beyond that, you are paying top dollar for labor. As I said, I do my own work, but if I couldn't or didn't want to, I'd try to find a good honest independent mechanic and develop a relationship. There are a lot of dishonest mechanics out...

The EGR valve was still good, and it's now back on my truck.

Aloha: 2007 ST 2wd Suspension - shocks questions

Just for fun, after I read the above post I went out and removed my EGR value that has over 300,000 on it to inspect it. Other than grabbing a socket and wrench the procedure took me under 5 minutes. A Motorcraft EGR valve replacement at my nearest auto parts store has it listed for $87. I...

Aloha: 2007 ST 2wd Suspension - shocks questions

Are you sure you're talking about the EGR valve? Removing and testing an EGR valve is a simple process. You can get a new valve one for around $50 or less or buy a Motorcraft for around $80. If someone tries to charge you $800, they are trying to rip you off BIG TIME.
