36 degrees in DFW and the ST wont stay on

Well about 4 years ago the ST quit like this and I did clean the IAC. Only difference then was that it was having trouble catching nearly every day. This go around it has worked fine for months ... we had it out for a couple of hours last night looking at Christmas lights with no...

36 degrees in DFW and the ST wont stay on

So for the past 2 years, periodically (appx 1once every 6 mos), the ST wont catch on start, but with a little gas and quick shift in to gear I have always been able to convince it to keep going. Well for some reason the magic ran out today. Not sure if its the cold or what, but despite...

Covers for eyelets left after installing bed cover

I recently installed a bed cover in my 01' ST. Not a big deal, but I had to remove the eye hooks from around the outside top and now have holes in the side of my bed. They look perfect like the perfect shape for a Ford logo. Is there any such animal? College logo would rock as well. Thanks

Need Trailer for weekend moving ...

I live in north Dallas & need a trailer for the weekend. I have felt the pains of dealing with U-Haul once before, but so far that seems to be the only place to get a boxed trailer. Do any other metroplexers have suggetions? There was a guy on 121 in Lewsiville that rented to me...

$600 in the shop & the ST Still overheating ...Help!

Where is the other sendor / sensor? How hard is it to replace the fan clutch? So you are thinking that the computer is making the truck downshift funny becuase it thinks the temperature is different that what is really is?

$600 in the shop & the ST Still overheating ...Help!

There was a boil over prior to me replacing the radiator cap. However, now the only symptoms are the shifting and gauge ( & maybe the brakes ... I can't determine if I am imagining them getting tighter or not). So just to clarify ... no boil over & gauge gets to 3/4s of the way to the...

$600 in the shop & the ST Still overheating ...Help!

Yeah, I am kinda feeling like that is what Ford did to me ... "just replacing parts" I changed the sensor behind the thermostat. I am not sure if that is the sendor or sensor? I got my oil changed at lunch ... although I don't think that is going to have much effect. I leaning more...

    Tire Wear issues??

I have continetal tires and hate them ... they are nail magnets. I seem to see most STs w/ Wranglers. I am leaning that way when these finally wear out.

$600 in the shop & the ST Still overheating ...Help!

LOL ... my little brother's Saturn was about a 1/4 of inch of rubber away from doing the same thing. As for the ST ... I drive on a highway 3/4s of the way home, however, 5:30 traffic in DFW is about the same as hitting 15+ stoplights on the way home. It is usually when I am getting off...

$600 in the shop & the ST Still overheating ...Help!

OK this is the 3rd installment of my 2001 ST (63k). I took it to Ford who says they could not get it to overheatheat. However, the did say the gasket around the waterpump was leaking. So while they were in there, they replaced the water pump (JIC). It was running fine for 2 weeks now...

    Head Gasket?

More follow up to my overheating. Todd Z mentioned in a previous post that my issues could be coming from a blown head gasket. After reading some other posts on the internet, many of my symptoms do seem to coincide with that diagnosis. I am at the point that I am planning on taking my...

Overheating Update ... pulling my hair out!

This is a follow up to 2 earlier posts about my truck sending boiling liquid in to the resevoir after I turn it off. The good news is the boiling over has stopped. Bad news is it still starts to over heat after 20+ miles of drving with the AC on during the day. At night & in the morning I can...
