    Boom

Guilty ... I only did the passenger side... but at the time that was the only place the sound was coming from. I went to Ford today to pick up new bolts, and they advised that you must replace the bolts when they are removed for anyreason. Guess its do to the super secret squirrel pink locktite...

    Boom

Followed by a thud, and the most unholy noises. As many of you may have read I have been having issues with my suspension, and I have been on a quest to solve those issues. Now bare in mind that 90% of my problem was passenger side front, and the rear shackles. Ok.. so today I am driving the...

    Rattle

Ok Shackles changed.. and boy did I run into some wierd issues.. I thought they where level across.. mine seemed to be tilted a little, and just enought to drive me to drink! Got it done, after using all of my profane vocabulary... Now when I took off the OEM (stock) shackles.. where the...

    Rattle

Just started changing parts today. So far I changed the sway bar links (OEM are plastic?) and replaced them with some metal ones, bushing on the OEM one where OK.. but nothing fancy. Also changed the tie rod end on the passenger side. The rubber boot was torn and after taking it off there was...

    Cruise Control Button

Anyone know where to get the replacement rubber pieces that cover the cruise control buttons on the left and right side of an 04 St? Over the years they have cracked and came off. I have looked around and well cant find any. Also went to Junk yards and found them in worse condition than mine...

    Shackle bushings?

I have an 04 ST with some creaking and popping problems. I have located it down to the shackles where the leafsprings connect. I sprayed some PB blaster garage lube and it didnt pop for a long while. I can see the bolt that runs through the shackle and it looks like the leaf spring moves side to...

    Popping and creeking

HAHAHAA I didnt even think about the fact there wasnt any in the rear! O well shows how busy I have been. I am using this as an oppertunity to get approval from the wife to do a lift kit, as they will replace the leaf springs... and maybe i can get them to install a bushings kit on the rear sway.

    Popping and creeking

Thanks guys.. Sounds like I got a busy week.. Anywho, is there anyway to actually check the ball joints? The creak and POP are heard when the rear axle goes over a speed bump, or then the truck has a little reticulation such as turning from a flat surface on to an upward sloaped road.

    Popping and creeking

I have an 04 ST that has developed some form of arthritis. The rear is popping and creaking with every bump and turn. I cannot seem to duplicate this without the truck in motion so its hard to put my finger on the problem. .. SO here is what I was thinking.. I want a small lift kit for the...

    Single problem, or double trouble?

For the past few months I have notiiced that my cruise control has worked when it wants to. When i engage it, then set the speed the green indication light comes on, then goes off immediatly. If I wait for a few, or turn the car off, then again sometimes it works. Sometimes if I rapidly push the...

    oil leaks

From what I understand (and I am NOT a mechanic), if you have a leak, any oil will leak these days. Most synthetics & oils clean, and lube (hence why your oil gets dirty). Some say you need a motor flush before adding synthetics, but i don't buy it. There reason was because it wasn't good to mix...

    Should I chance it?

Ok, crawled under there, took a look, and a hear. Most definitely it comes from the passenger side, and im about 70% sure its the lower control arm near the ball joint. but could be the bushings where it connects to the frame. So i sprayed each bushing with lithium, trying to coat as best I...
