Gas mileage slowly decreases as OxSensors age, excess unburned fuel in exhaust, Cat Cons run hotter.

New OxSensors. Can't revive old sensors, as the chemical sensor tip just wears away with time and miles.

Carefully pry them out, hopefully without breaking either plastic or scratching paint. Just a recess in the body metal underneath. Mine were a little loose a couple of years ago; took them out, cleaned up & touched up body paint, filled recess with axle grease to prevent water intrusion & rust...

Yep, for the ThermoStatHousing, any Aluminum version is better than the JunkPlastic OEM\AfterMarket versions. Believe your 2005 IntakeManifold allows slightly easier access to the ThermoStat than earlier Manifold designs, so with basic tools & a little patience you should be good; sometimes one...

Need to read TroubleCodes via the OBD2 Port. Most part stores have a scanner that you can use free, just make sure it reads both Standard SAE and Proprietary FORD codes.
