I have not checked for codes yet but that certainly sounds like a logical step. Gas gauge has been wonky as of late as well but I assume that is unrelated to this.
Good morning,
Seems putting it back in park and being patient alleviates the issue until next start up.
New plugs and wires did not help fix this issue.
Have not tried EGR sensor yet but I assume the idle would be rough constantly if this was the problem (not just at start up)?
Any thoughts...
Appreciate all the feedback and assistance. Turns out when I moved the rear wheel to the front the vibration changed its characteristics (more in the wheel less in the seat). I found a salvage yard with one matching wheel left and scooped it up for $50. Mounted balanced and vibration nearly 100%...
Thanks not looking great so far. Local place pulled one and I arrived to pick it up and it was similar style but 17" from an Explorer. Their system stated it was 16".
Good call, I rotated the rear to the front and now the vibes are more noticeable in the steering where before it was mostly under the seat. Next I am hoping a wheel from the salvage yard will clean things up. Much appreciated, have a great weekend!
Ok thanks! I assume I have to find someone willing to lend me a set of good tires and rims for a couple hours? ;) visually my wheels and tires look fine. I have had a shop do an over all inspection prior to doing motor mounts. steering linkage, front suspension system and tie rods checked out ok.
Been throwing parts and labor at my 05 XLT and refuse to give up for some reason. Vibration is during acceleration and deceleration 60mph and up. Until now I have done the below and still get the bad vibes on the highway. Very frustrating, thanks in advance for suggestions and thoughts.
148k...
I took some rough measurements and bought one intended for a Jeep. I am hoping for a miracle and I can get it to line up and not look stupid.
Planning to give it a go next weekend.
Hello, has anyone swapped the stock OEM rear bumper for something cleaner looking? Is custom the only option here or will something else mount up? Preferably with receiver hitch integrated. Thanks, Paul
Thanks Ted and ouch on that cost, I will add it to my future to do list. Thankfully not my daily driver in the Summer mostly on two wheels till the snow flies. Cheers!
Wondering if I will experience any rub if I replace tires with a size up to 265/75/16, current tires are 255/70/16 Has anyone done this? I am not concerned with speed or odometer inaccuracies.
Thanks.
