01-03 F150 SuperCrew opinions?

Anyone have any opinions or experience with the 01-03 F150 SuperCrew trucks? I'm contemplating moving up to the larger truck and have found a few prospects. One has the 4.6 and 2 others have the 5.4 motor, all are 2wd, mileage in the 75-100K range. How's the longevity of the motor and trannies on them? Is the power increase really noticeable between the 4.6 and 5.4?



Also, anyone have interest in my truck as it is? Probably looking for about $6K as it is with all aftermarket parts and goodies, the exception might be the Alpine HU. 2wd, 135K miles, 285/70-17 tires on F150 rims with adapters, TT/shackle lift, topper, yada, yada, yada.....

The Super Crews from 01 to 03 are very solid trucks. Definitely get the 5.4 if you want to be happy. big torque difference which is needed with those trucks. The ride is nice and the fit an finish is good. Mine was an 03 and I never had an issue. try to get an 03 with the 5.4 the earlier models had a tendency to spit spark plugs.

I had an '00 F150 Lariat 4x4 extend cab (had the jump seat) with the 5.4, plenty of torque and power to pull/tow whatever you have in mind. I had no problems with mine, but you still need to do the tranny maintanence since its a ford tranny IMO, ride was good, very comfy truck, really miss that one as it was a good truck for me.:smile0006:

Never had a SuperCrew but had a '00 Lightning for 2 years. I never had any issues.



p.s. I miss that truck...but it was either the truck or get a new Ultra Classic.
