02 Sport trac with P0305 code.

Good afternoon to all,

I have a 02 Sport trac that I have been working to get a P0305 code resolved.

Items that have been replaced
Plugs, Wires, Coil pack, Drivers side O2 sensor in exhaust pipe and ECM. Still have P0305 code.

Pulled compression test and Cylinder 5 had lower compression that other five. Pulled engine and replaced engine. Ran like a champ for about 40 miles and check engine light started to blink again and skip returned.

Pulled and cleared codes several time and still shows P0305 code.

Any help would be great.

Injector brand new. engine ran great no skip or jumping for 40 miles after rebuild.

Check wires, Switch injectors around,. Re test items replaced, Check fuel pressure, fuel filter, clogged cat converter.... A lot of things, But replacing the engine ??? dam that's a lot of work...

Likely something dumb simple
then you'll kick yourself when you find it.

Who did the engine rebuild? Did they break the cams in? That’s running the motor with a break in oil at 2000 rpm for 20 minutes or a serious of rpm’s for so much time and then changing the oil. A cam lobe may have been wiped out, seen this happened countless times.
