Just bought it, has 82K miles on the odo, its a 4X2 but the tires are shot!

Anyone have a preference of tires that are good and which ones to avoid?

Generally I prefer American or German tires, All Weather, quiet

:eek:nline:

Many favor the Michelin LTX M/S or M/S 2, General Grabber AT2 or HTS,

and the BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A.

Depends on your application, weather conditions, etc. Many posts here.

TireRack.com is another excellent source of info, reviews, and ratings.

Generally speaking, anything but OEM Goodyear. Welcome and Good Luck.

P.S.- Those in the know have upgraded their shocks and rear sway bars with no regrets.

They will make your '03 RWD much safer, and handle like never before.

I've always been a big fan of Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. Got good life out of them and never had a problem. They're expensive but get some of the highest marks on Tire Rack.com.

Any of the above suggestions are great -- except if you go with BFG Long Trail, make sure their is a "TOUR" after that name. The originals weren't so good.

Yokohama Geolandars.

Didn't kill my wallet, but don't skimp on quality.

I just put these tires on my 02 ST back in November 2009, and I am impressed.

My LTX M/S 2s that were on there were massively worn out, and would loose traction if even a drop of water was on the road. Before they were fully worn out though, I was less than impressed with their wet/snow traction and their offroad performance (I do mild but frequent dirt + gravel driving), so I chose not to get new ones.

And despite the name, they're made in the USA
