I just picked up an 04 ST 4x4. It does not have a ton of options on it. One that it is lacking is Cruise Control. Is there anyway I can retrofit this? I have seen aftermarket kits and I am not against going that route if I have to. Just wondering what my options are since I am new to this truck.

I added OEM cruise to my old 05 XLS Trac. These parts are plentiful in junkyards.

you will need the button assemblies, the steering wheel clockspring, and the servo motor and cable. All the other wiring, brake switch, etc should already be in your truck. With these pieces it's a plug n play install.

Thanks for the info guys.

Do I have to get those parts off a ST or can I get them from another model? There is only one ST in the local junkyard here and the local pick a part wants to sell it complete.

I would get the parts off of the same vehicle if possible unless you can do your homework and verify that they used the same part number on a different vehicle.

I bought one of those 1L5Z-9A818-CA cruise kits for another Trac owner & copied the instructions. If you want to see them check the link below. Installation went well for him as I recall.
