04 ST-Check Engine Light- Resolved!

I have an 04 ST, 96,000 miles... Check engine light came on. I looked through the posts, checked the rubber elbow hose, no problems there... Pulled the MAF sensor out (disconnected from the airbox, and the intake hose)... used some electronics cleaner from Radio Shack to clean the sensor (10 bucks)... Disconnected the battery cable a few times to clear the computer code.... and YES!!!! It cleared! MAF sensors are like 120 bucks... I saved some cash! Hope this helps someone else!

You would be suprised at how many people change the MAF. When all they needed to do was cleanit. I have had alot of freinds waste there money. Most shops wont clean them. They make more $$ changing them out.

Disconnecting the battery will clear the code right away.....



Driving it for 3-4 days will let you know it is fixed when the light does not return..

It's been over a week.... light hasn't returned... I'm pretty sure its fixed.



But folks, DO NOT USE WD40 to clean it... Must use electronics cleaner... Got

my $10 spray bottle from Radio Shack... Worked like a charm.
