My '07 LTD V-8 won't do a burnout, even on wet or slick pavement. The damn auto 4WD kicks in and engages the front axle.

Any way to disable the auto 4WD?

Most likley the whole traction control system. Probably aplying the brakes also.

I think the Mustang is the only Ford that has a disable switch.

Our 2000 Explorer is the same way. When the ABS system senses traction, it engages the transfer case and you go into 4x4 mode.

The only thing I can think of is you need to disconnect your transfercase and the ABS module.

Todd Z knows how to disable the traction control system, but was sworn never to tell.

I'm betting it's the traction control. My 1997 Grand Prix did the same thing. It refused to smoke the tires unless you turned the traction control off.

You have to disconnect the traction control plugs at the rear wheels. I had the same problem as you when I first got mine last year. Now I can do massive burn outs and kill my tires!
