'07 ST question

I saw on the Van Bortel dealer site that you can NOT get the Sirus satilite if you get the Navigation system. Why is that?



Also you cant get the Nav if you get the heated windshield. Another, Why?

It may have something to do with the placement of the GPS antenna.

it has to do with the sirius module being able to be used with the regular cd am/fm Ford radio. If you get the NAV system, it is a color screen and the radio and NAV are intergrated into one system...it is a totally different system then the stock radio.

On the 07's I drove they had all 3 together... Nav, sat, and the heated shield..

I figured it could be done. Did the Nav and Sat work at the same time?

My portable GPS, sitting on the dash, BARELY gets a signal. The heated windshield is like a metal screen and it's hard to acquire 3D position. I'm assuming that the nav equipped ST had a design where the GPS antenna on or just under the dash plastic. I'm assuming they decided to move it?



As far as the NAV unit is concerned, if that's the same unit as in the Explorers, I don't like it. The screen is too small.

Yes the nav and sat did work together...

The antenna is relocated to the back center of the roof for the sat.....

IF i can find a pic I took showing the antenna I will...
