'07 Tonneau cover key

Could someone tell me if the '07 Ford OEM tonneau cover key is the same as the ignition key or does require a separate key? Thanks

It requires a seperate key.

Separate key and I took the lock out to have it rekeyed to be same as ignition but locksmith

could not do so because of something on cylinder. I sure would like it to be same as

ignition.

Mine uses the same key for everything, I took delivery dec. 1. I was pleasantly surprised by this as many people had mentioned their 07s had separate keys.

Mine is key'd the same as the ignition. It's something they started doing on Job 2 or 3 for 07.

Must be a Job 3 thing, my truck is a Job 2 vehicle and the keys are different.



Dale, try taking your truck to a different locksmith. There is at least one member that has had the tonneau cover rekeyed to work with the ignition key and I will be doing the same very soon.

Ford changed this mid stream, the first batch of 07's used 2 separate keys, the new ones can use the same key...
