When we start our cold 2nd gen, V6, SportTrac, and drive it out of the garage, the CO2 monitor detects high CO2, but only when cold. If its warmed up, and is driven in or out of the garage, no issue. Our other vehicles do not create enough CO2 to even upset the monitor.
The truck runs fine, regular oil changes, I did replace the plugs. No "check engine" light.

Ideas?

Older vehicles inherently polute more; could be time for new OxygenSensors.
Don't live in USWa state; is it typical for CO1\CarbonMonoxide detectors to be in home garages?
CO2\CarbonDioxide is harmless, same stuff as in your kids soda.
Check your local City\County\State building codes for that requirement\standard.
Seems a Smoke\Fire detector without CO sensor would be more appropriate.
Smoke\Fire+CO detectors are required by my county for home living+sleeping spaces but not the garage.
Who installed the CO detector in the garage: home builder or you?
