When I disconnect and reconnect the battery (after about 20 mins), the transmission 2-3 flair goes away for a few days but inevitably returns. My 01 has 117K miles . Any theories on why the computer reset improves shifting temporarily? Does this condition suggest what is failing within the trans (solenoids, etc.)?

Thanks,

Ron

The tranny has an adaptie shift pattern. You drive it softly and it will shift softly. You drive it hard, it will shift hard.

I take it you drive like an old grandma.

A good idea would be to get it checked out ASAP before you cause a major rebuild because you are trying to fix something you can not fix.

If the tranny is slipping, that is not a good thing. Disconnecting the battery and then driving it again is not going to make the problem go away. You are actually doing damage to the tranny that will cause a $500.00 repair turn into a $2,000.00 repair in a short period, if you already haven't.
