Took the ST in during December to get the flair taken care of. They had it for a week or so and were to have rebuilt it after having the warranty guy come in and give the go ahead.

After getting it back, it appears the flair went to more of a 'delayed shift' at 20mph or about 2200rpm. Took it back in and they "found valve hanging in bore" and "cleaned valve and bore with emory cloth".

See pics in my library (in tranny invoices folder) for the invoices with their write up on it.

Pictures tranny.jpg and tranny2.jpg are from the first attempt. You can see on tranny2 that parts were $855 & labor $1131. I paid $50 because of the warranty (I guess you could say it cost me $1250 because I paid about $1200 for my insurance, er, warranty)

tranny3.jpg is the second attempt to fix it, so far so good.

Find it sad that you have to buy and extended warranty to cover yourself for known issues like this.

The 2-3 shift has been a problem in the 5R55E tranny for a long time. There should have been a production fix a long time ago. This is why Ford slipped to no.3. American industry better shape up or we all will be driving foreign cars.
