Hello. I have a vacuum line "tube" that is disconnected and I am hoping someone can tell me where to reconnect it. There are 2 line "tubes" coming from motor on driver side. One line connects directly to EGR valve. The 2nd line has a small plug that has disconnected from somewhere. In the first pic the line/tube circled green is the one that is disconnected. The disconnected end is circled in orange. The 2nd pic just shows where the same line is connected to (for the end that is not disconnected), in case it helps identify what this line is. Does anyone have any idea where I should reconnect the disconnected end? Note: I have seen this line in various online pics, a repair manual, and vids - but haven't been able to find what it is, and where it is supposed to connect to. Thank you.

Welcome to the Herd; lots of friendly knowledgable folk in these forums!
Looks like you've got a 2001~2003 SportTrac?
Believe that's the VacLine, from IntakeManifold to EVAPSystem underneath BatteryTray.
EVAPSystem draws+monitors a slight vacuum on the FuelTank to minimize vapors lost to the air.
These VacHoses commonly get brittle+rot+loose with time & leak; any EVAP related OBD2 TroubleCodes?
Likely need to replace the EVAP hoses, possibly also the CharcoalCanister &\or ControlValve.

PS: consider adding basic vehicle info: Year Model \ Engin \ Trans \ TCase \ Diffs \ ...
to your profile signature; makes it easier+quicker for others to answer questions.

You are correct on the boot connecting to under the battery tray. Thank you for that and the additional info on the line. I appreciate your help!!
