2004/2005 Turn Signal Switch Substitute

I wasn’t able to find a replacement turn signal switch for my 2004 Sport Trac. It was out of stock (unavailable or discontinued) everywhere I looked online with no indication it would ever become available and I didn’t want to drive my truck without working turn signals. In desperation I bought a switch for a “Ford Ranger 2004 - 2011” and found that it fit and worked just fine. The arm is a bit shorter than the OEM switch but otherwise a perfect match.

Thanks very much I am having same problem finding one and knew there had tobe a substitute one .and the 04 ranger fit perfect no modification needed ??
