I like the fact that Ford put 2 trailer plugs near the hitch of my 2007 ST. What I do not understand is why they put the flat 4 plug under the hitch. The F150 has a easy axcess plug. I got fed up after trying to find the flat 4 plug in the dark and modified the bracket. The modification took about 1 hour. No wires had to be cut .

How ironic, just got my 07 Trac 3 days ago and I asked myself the exact same thing....why didn't they mount it like they do on the F-150? Is the modification something that you can document so we can do it too?

I will try to do something with more pictures later.

1) remove the plug bracket from the truck (4 torqs and 1 bolt) Unplug 7pin connector

2) First Ijust cut the bracket off at the 90 degree bend.

3) I than traced the 4 pin plug pattern on the remaining bracket.

4) Drill the sharp corners of the pattern

5) saw / file/ or mill off the remaining material / deburr

You might want to submit it as a project and get one of those handy wrenches by your name. It sounds like a good project to me.
