This is cool, but I wish SVT would build another street truck in a supercrew like the Lightning, or say, SVT Adrenalin...



I'd love to get one, but the Raptor's just too damn big to fit in my garage.:cry:

2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor SuperCrew Announced



Ford expands the back seat of its off-road flyer.

In Romeo, Michigan, yesterday, where we were gathered to drive the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor with the new 6.2-liter V-8, the SVT team announced a new body style will join the lineup, the SuperCrew cab with four real doors and a real back seat. The current Raptors SuperCab configuration has stubby half doors to admit rear passengers to tiny jump-seats. Given the Raptors focus on off-road supremacy, we anticipate that the four-door model will only be available in the shortest SuperCrew wheelbase, at 145 inches. (The existing Raptor rides solely on a 133-inch wheelbase.)



We have no other details at this time, other than the fact that the only available engine will be the 6.2-liter V-8. Wed guess that move is a harbinger of the 5.4-liters fate in all Raptors. Once the 6.2 engine has had some time on the marketand once Fords EcoBoost campaign is in full swingwe suspect the base 5.4 will fade away. Although Ford has said the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 will replace its base V-8s elsewhere, a turbo six is so at odds with the Raptors image that we cant imagine the company offering it in the off-road superhero. Well know more this summer when Ford releases more information on the Raptor SuperCrew.

Very nice. More astounding is the 100 HP gain over the 2010 ST, with a very slight mileage loss.

SVT Raptor 6.2L V-8 (EPA 14-18 ) vs. ST 4.0L V-6 (13-20).

Looks like a vehicle targeted for the Sport Trac Adrenalin buyer,

albeit the slightly higher MSRP. Beautiful truck.

Apples & Oranges. The Raptor is a Baja-style off-road racer. The SVT Adrenalin was intended to be a street/muscle truck, and planned to fill the void left by the demise of the SVT Lightning.



And as for pricing, the base price of the 6.2L Raptor is ~$41,000. The current non-SVT, appearance package only Sport Trac Adrenalin runs ~$42,000 depending on options. The Raptor is a great bang for the buck.:banana:

Thanks Andy (TrainTrac)- I stand corrected, a different class altogether.

Goes to show you I haven't been, or will be, in the market for a long time.

It's EPA estimate of 14-18 MPG is amazing for a 6.2L 411 HP powerplant,

considering a curb weight of 5908 pounds. Performance specs of 0-60 @ 7.1

and quarter mile @ 15.1, are slightly disappointing, IMO.

The Super Crew will be as successful as the first Harley F150. Cool, fast, but small market for it. I just keep pretending that the front end isn't THAT ugly.



I wish SVT would take all the best from the Raptor, take the size and utility of the ST and put those together. My perfect truck would have a shorter wheel base (than the F150, thinking ST or Jeep Wrangler Unlimited), powerful turbo charged V6 (I'd sell family members for a turbo diesel V6) or optional NA V8, with a solid front axle, 35 inch tires, and a bed just large enough to fit an ATV. Why can't I have this?
