"juke or Junk..." & " Joke? "

your experience for a comparison?

eddie,

no way near the room the escape has. imo, the escape is a great small medium suv.

plenty of room for the 2 dogs and us with 4x4 that gets 20mpg.

just dont get the 4cyl (the lack of power sux).

the more we think about it, we probably will stay with the escape for 1-3 years.

Breaking from your allegiance to Toyota?

For Nissan, I will say that this Joke is better looking than the cube, take that as you will. Sadly I've never been satisfied with a Nissan product, ever. The pure and utter suck of the 1988 Stanza will be with me forever. First vehicle to have dual van doors....and the first vehicle which would shoot up 10 mph if you turned of the AC...and the only vehicle I've ever driven which was more impotent was the Chevy Malibu (any year, I've done em all lol)

:back2topic:

Why not the 2011 RAV4? Without the folding 3rd row option, the cargo area is most capacious, and you have all the additional space under the false floor where the seats would go. It has at least 2x that of the previous RAV4 generation, and is still decently sized, with slightly more control over the 4wd.

(BTW, how come Toyota doesn't have an electronic rear seat folding device? Pulling on levers is so old-school compared to a button-press. Especially when "Backward" Ford has had this for an eternity now )

BTW, what are the EPA estimates for the Joke? A perfunctory search @ Google tells me that they haven't been released yet.

i thought the headlights were supposed to be the fog lights until i saw that there are actually 3 sets of lights on the front..

looks kinda odd IMO. I don't think it suits my taste. I'd probably check out a RAV 4 before going with this "buggy" looking thing.

KL,

Gary is just stiring the pot. Website has been very civil for a while and Gary wants to get it worked up again.

Don't forget, Gary only drives vehicles for a couple of years. With those Toyota's, after 3 years, they start falling apart, plus he loves all that "residule".

Tom

Caymen, that's true, I forgot about all that. I still don't understand the philosophy, since a car is part of the fam. I'll have my 02 until the ST is pried from my fingers.

Though the site being civil also means that the site is rather boring, even the main board rarely gets a new post.

Though the "residule" thing at least exists at the Toyota stealerships, as the fam's 2002 rav4 still had a fair bit of value, and the price to lease a 2010 was only a few dollars more than an 07.

(Of course, the only Toy in the family to not break has been the 2002 Rav4, with religious stealership maintenance, and only 60,000 miles in 8 years. So the fam leased the 2010.)

"Breaking from your allegiance to Toyota?"

i am always open to almost any mfg.

"Why not the 2011 RAV4?"

wife liked the juke and we are just researching and tossing around some ideas.

as i mentioned before, you pass judgement on something you have NO experience with. you have to be related to tom.

"Gary is just stiring the pot. Website has been very civil for a while and Gary wants to get it worked up again."

tom, stirring the pot? as others have, i posted about a vehicle we may be interested in.

that is stirring the pot?

as a wanna' be sport trac website police officer, it appears you are upset it was not a ford i was interested in. in toms world if it is not a ford you cant mention it here.

"Don't forget, Gary only drives vehicles for a couple of years. With those Toyota's, after 3 years, they start falling apart, plus he loves all that "residule"."

oh yes i do love the RESIDULE (residual). it has made me alot of money and i am able to get into newer and better vehicles with the residual from the sales.

i.e.: after just 3 moves i am able to get into a new 2010 scion xb for $2,100.

pull that deal off einstein....

but you will never understand as you are limited.

btw, i have purchased more cars in the past 4 months then you have purchased in your lifetime. so when you get some experience in sales/resales/residual/vehicles, give me a call.

geee, why is that on a weekly basis i get calls from numerous dealers (including ford) to see what i have available?

now get in your convertAble and drive away :bwahaha:

nuff now

Gary,

You are missing one important point. I don't care. I drive the piss out of mine. Sure you may have purchased more vehicles in the past 4 months than I have in my lifetime. I don't deny that. I am willing to bet I have owned my vehicles longer than you have. I know what lasts. I know how to make them last. I drive the piss out of my vehicle and it still runs.

I have 3 vehicles currently in my vehicles.

1991 Escort GT with 354,000 miles. (It was given to me from a friend returing the favor when I gave him my 1992 Escort GT that was eaten up with rust after 130,000+ miles)

2000 Explorer with 198,000 miles that we got with 136,000 miles. Got it for $5,000 in 2006, shortly after we got married. Gonna drive it until it dies. If I can drive a 60,000+ miles and sell it for $3,000, don't care what residual you get, you are not going to beat it.

2002 Explorer Sport Trac with 109,000 miles. I beat the hell out of it and I don't recall it ever not starting, unless I leave the lights on or a cooler plugged in for 2 days (some may remember this from the 2003 meet).

So yea, you buy and sell alot of cars, but drive them for 200,000 plus miles and tell me how well they hold up for you.

Tom

p.s. this is a Ford website, so everyone else sucks!

as i mentioned before, you pass judgement on something you have NO experience with. you have to be related to tom.

I'm confused. All I did was ask a question. Didn't know that was casting judgment. Noted.

"Breaking from your allegiance to Toyota?"

i am always open to almost any mfg.

Some can't take a joke. You may be open to any manufacturer, but most all of your posts undeniably sing praise of a certain one...one with which I do have almost a decade of experience across several vehicles driven personally.

btw, i have purchased more cars in the past 4 months then you have purchased in your lifetime.

I do not believe that this was addressed to me, but even if it was not, I still feel compelled to ask how it is relevant. Did you purchase those cars for personal use? If not, it's not really relevant; "fleet" purchases are not made on the same criterion as personal purchases.

Apples to oranges.

Oh, since I'm already judging...

p.s. this is a Ford website, so everyone else sucks!

...I think we can be honest and say that even if we weren't on a Ford site, that sentiment would still be true.

KL,

Gary thinks that we should be "open" to all brands. While I somewhat agree to this, he is forgetting that this is a Ford website. Many members, such as myself, bleed Ford blue. I don't care about Toyota. I don't care about Nissan. I don't care about Honda.

I care about Ford.

I may be looked down upon for it, but I really don't care. It is my money and I will buy whatever I want. I will belittle those that do not buy a Ford. If you don't like it, don't tell us, on a Ford website, about it. I don't frequent a Toyota based website and bash Toyota. I don't visit a Nissan based website and talk about the Ford Fiesta. I talk Fords on a Ford website. It is as simple as that.

If this was www.myjuke.com, then Gary can sing all day about how superior it is and all the "residule" it will have. He can do whatever he wan't.

Gary is simply trying to stir the pot, as usual. Nothing to really say, but must make some noise to feel important.

I feel sorry for him, I really do.

Toyota sucks! Nissan Sucks! Honda sucks! Volkswagon sucks! GM sucks! Chrysler sucks! etc.

Welcome to a Ford biased website. Get used to it.

kl,

as in the past, again you are passing judgement on a vehicle you have no experience with.

i have no experience with the juke or ford fiesta.

so, i will not trash either unless i have had experience utilizing them.

as far as my auto mfg choice, yes i do have one that i lean toward since i have had a very good history with that brand. does that mean i am closed to other choices, NO.

yes, fleet purchases are different then a psnl purchase, but that has nothing to do with proven reliability.

btw, for the record i only own 1 toyota (scion). the 4runner is my company vehicle.

the others are chevy, nissan, pontiac, and yes FORD.

tom,

go back and open your eyes.

where did i bash ford in this post???????????????

simply stating that a new vehicle was out and the wife was interested. others have done the same. so in your mind that is ford bashing. very sad.

also where am i "stirring the pot"??????

if i was so anti-ford why would i own one, buy 13 fusions for our florida office, promote the t-connect and state that the best cargo vans are built by ford.

oh yea, i would have got sport trac number 4 if my needs didn't change!

now that is ford bashing.

you just don't like the fact that someone thinks another mfg overall builds a better quality vehicle thru out their entire line.

"I feel sorry for him, I really do." -- no need to, i am doing OK.

"I will belittle those that do not buy a Ford." -- as far as this silly statement, you are telling us that you probably do this in life to other people who do not see things your way or look different then you. now that is someone i feel sorry for.
