Thats just a concept. They will never make it. how could people who park in parking lots next to each other be able to open the doors?

It is a stupid and ugly car though.

I agree with JohnnyB...If the concept ever makes it to the showroom, it will be watered down considerably. If they don't sell, Ford can always go retro again and perhaps style one to look like the 1973 Mustang II...:bwahaha:

Got to be concept....hope...It is not an american pony car.

Toooooooo, european........

Two things. The white engineering mule is just that, a mule. It may have some frontend body parts from the new car but the rest of the car looks to be the current body. They were probably testing cooling or something related to the size of the grille opening or whatever. Nothing to hang your hat on. The other point is that the red car is the Evos concept from last year's show circuit. It was intended to gage public reaction to a possible new corporate design philosophy, nothing more. If anything, the 2013 Fusion carries more styling cues from that car than the Mustang will. I would expect a similar design grille opening on the Mustang since that seems to be the new corporate "look" but that is probably about it. The grille design has been compared to that of Aston Martins which is not a bad thing, IMO. The latest Taurus uses the same shape grille. The article mentioned that the Mustang's headlights will be round which definitely can't be said of the Evos. I guess you could say that about the current car too, sort of.

The 4 cylinder option is wrong, the base engine for the Mustang should be the 3.5 Eco-Boost not a 4 banger.

Would love to see a Eco-Boost 5.0 twin turbo show up.

I agree, a 4-cylinder engine has no business being in a Mustang.

I like my Fusion, but the Mustang is supposed to be more than just a RWD version of it.

I had a 4-cylinder (2.3L) engine and 3-speed automatic in my '74 Rustang II. What a dog!!! That thing just yawned a bit when I would floor it on the highway. Nothing more than a yawn.

I don't think you will see the 3.5L EcoBoost in a Mustang anytime soon. Ford put too much effort into the 5.0L V-8 and the performance would be so close that having both in the Mustang would not make much sense. The current 5.0 has only been around since the 2011 model year. That being said, I think we all have to get used to smaller, forced induction engines. Who would have guessed that Ford would be able to sell so many V-6 F-150s? If that's what it takes to keep the Mustang relevant then so be it. Keep in mind also that Ford intends to sell the Mustang to the world market. That won't go over very well without an efficient drivetrain option such as a 4 cylinder EB. Who knows, maybe that option will only be available in markets like Europe and China. Just be glad they are not talking about a diesel option, yet...
