4x4 auto on 07 ST

guys/gals, there is a button on my console labelled "4x4 auto" and it can be depressed, so it seems like a real actuator. Yet nothing lights up or otherwise indicates a status change---it ir right next to the 4x4 high and 4x4 low buttons...



Is it supposed to let you know that a status change has occured? does it turn on and off or is it always on, if so why the button?!?:huh:

It is the standard operating mode of the '07, therefore no need to display anything. The reason for the button is to switch back to that made if you are in one of the other modes; "4x4 High" or "4x4 Low"

yep you are right, I was just coming off a trail and couldn't get out of 4x4 high, until I hit the 4x4 auto...that being said, when I hit another muddy trail, the auto mode wasn't doin' too well, had to get 4x4 high to make my way...I intend to test this further
