My 4x4 has be out about 2 years.I just gave the truck to my son 4 his first vehicle, I just replaced the 4x4 control module and now the 4x4 lights work but it doesn't fell like it goes into 4 wheel drive. Is it possible that it is stuck from not switching it over fou 2 years. Is there something I can do or should I just take somewhere to get fixed.

Try tapping the transfer case lightly with a hammer while someone switches it from 2WD to 4HI a few times.

Probably a good time to change fluid as well.

Yes. Do it monthly.



If tapping the case doesn't do it, try tapping the shift motor and maybe removing it to work it over; lube what you can.
