What is the correct procedure for taking 05 sportrac OUT of 4x4 low

mine will not come out of low unless i stop and place transmission in netural. sometimes I have to place in park and turn off vehicle to get it out of low. Thanks

Stop the truck.

Place in N

Place switch in 4x4 HIGH

Foot on brake

Waite 3-5 seconds it will go



Then put in 2WD

Or drive in 4x4 H...



works flawless for me that way

My owners manual says that you need to have your foot on the brake and the transmission in Neutral before 4L will engae. I says to take it out you have to also have it in neutral and your foot on the brake and then you can take it out of 4L. I just did it for you and it took 3 seconds to engage and 4 to disengage
