A/c stopps at full

So, this is for a 2003 ford focus. Most of the time the a/c blows fine, it has stopped a few times but not often at all. However, whenever I put the speed on full it will go faster then slow down and then eventually stop. I wait and then restart the speed at a slower level and it works fine. I'm thinking its just the fan blower but what other thoughts are out there?

Research fan motor resistor that controls fan speed. In Projects section this forum you'll see my DIY on my 2007 Trac. Should be an easy fix if that's your problem.
