2010 sport trac A/C quits cooling or can barely cool a little, the turn it of wait a couple seconds, turn it back on, cold as ice.....anybody know of this
Sounds like a clog orifice tube . Not expensive and not hard to remove and replace. Will have the empty Freon and store it and recharge unit back with Freon when finished.
I had similar symptoms which turned out to be a slipping clutch on the compressor. I removed one spacer (it was the only one in there) to reduce the gap and now my A/C works great. NOTE: This is the original A/C compressor on my 2002 ST (169K miles).
You can find videos on YouTube regarding how to adjust the compressor clutch gap. It was a relatively easy fix.
