I was given some paving bricks & I'm trying to figure out how big a patio I can make.

Ok... It takes 8 bricks to make a 17 in. square using a waive pattern and I have 160 bricks So I can make 20 squares and I get 28 sq ft....somehow it just doesn't seem right looking at the pile. Can someone confirm my math.

Thanks in advance

I get 802.8.

20 squares each having 17" sides. so 17x20 = 340" on each side. 340/12 = 28.333 feet on each side.

28.333 x 28.3333 = 802.8 ft^2

but i'm not a math wiz either

Ok I think I got it ......w/ 20 squares I can make a 4 row of 5 square meauseing 7 ft by 5.6 ft .......that's more like ......please someone tell if I/m wrong !!

So you can make 20 Squares that are 17 inches by 17 inches.

17*20 = 340

and 340 *17=5780 square inches which equals a 40.13 square FOOT patio...

So it can be 4 foot by 10 foot, or 8 foot by 5 foot...Just as examples..

You may need some extra for cutting, or damage etc..

I just went and got 120 more which made 15 more squares ...so now I can do 7 squares by 7 squares .....7*17=119 ins........119" / 12" = 9.9' ..... So I think I got my 10"x10" patio:D......not gone to use grout or morder....just gonna lay them on a bed of sand.
