ABS is kicking in when pulling into a parking spot (left turn only) and under extremely slow braking...before taking it in, I tried cleaning the front sensors with a soft brush/degreaser as suggested but still no luck...does anyone know if the onboard comp spits out a code to tell if one of the sensors is faulty? My ABS dash light has never come on as of yet indicating a problem? Thinking i could replace the sensor myself and save some $$$ but was wondering if there is a stored code that could point to the faulty sensor if any?

Thanks ahead!!!

You can scan it for a code, and it will store some codes.

Where the rotors ever changed ???

There is a specific spacing that the sensor needs to be from the exciter ring and there is a sensor in the rear end as well... It is removable from on top of the rear. You can try to clean that one also..

if you are having a problem with an ABS sensor, you should get an ABS light.

It sounds like one or more of the sensor is not picking up a signal from the tone ring. It can be caused by dirt on the sensor or tone ring, or the sensor bracket may have gotten bent and is now too far away from the tone ring to detect the wheel speed.

If you only encounter this problem when doing a low speed left turn, it may be a wire is cracked or damaged. Turning left pulls on the wire and you get a brief loss of senosor data?? Or it could just be a bad sensor.

Either way in needs to be diagnosed and repaired.

Todd/Rich,

thanks....

i did have the 4 rotors replaced a year ago--when i had them off to try and clean the sensor, they still looked ok, no grooves, scratches etc. I just sorta of figured with turningand the ABS going on it seems to be coming from the front though i could be wrong...it also does it under like braking say under 3 mph...normal braking or emergency stopping it never has gone off on dry conditions...
