I watched a launch from I-max. On the side view, before leaving the launch pad. It was amazing to see how much rockin back and forth it did.
 
Very cool.



I believe these high-def, high-speed cameras were added specifically for viewing the leading edges of the wings in response the Columbia tragedy. They were added to the first shuttle post-Columbia. With the cameras, NASA could view the takeoffs and see if any debris has hit the wings during takeoff and then instruct inspection and if-needed repairs via a space walk while the shuttle was in orbit.

Interesting, can't help but feel awed / captivated watching that. That kind of science isn't part of the daily routine of many things mechanical or otherwise.
