Does anybody know anything about Acura's and the VTEC

On tuesday the speedometer in my Acura quit working, and so it seems the VTEC also

Are the two connected?

I thought that the VTEC was dependent on RPM, but the tach is still working

Will simply replacing the speedometer cable (if there is one) fix the problem, or is there something more going on.

Plus, will driving the Acura with the VTEC out hurt it, or will I have to start putting daily commute miles on the Trac until I get it fixed.

Any help would be appreciated

You've got a more major underlying problem I fear. Chances are it's just something stupid, but take it to a good mechanic and get the thing scanned.

As far as being able to drive it without the VTEC working, you should be OK.

You best bet would be checking an Acura owners website or going to egroups.com and looking for an Acura owners list.

They would be able to help you more then anyone here would. Chances are, someone out there had the exact same problem and knows how to fix it.
