Air Traffic Control...Southern Style

Atlanta ATC: "Tower to Saudi Air 911 You are cleared to land eastbound on runway 9R."

Saudi Air: "Thank you Atlanta ATC. Acknowledge, cleared to land on infidel's runway 9R - Allah be Praised "

Atlanta ATC "Tower to Iran Air 515 -- You are cleared to land westbound on runway 9R."

Iran Air: "Thank you Atlanta ATC. We are cleared to land on infidel's runway 9R. Allah is Great "

Pause: Static.............

Saudi Air: " ATLANTA ATC - ATLANTA ATC"

Atlanta ATC: "Go ahead Saudi Air 911?"

Saudi Air: "YOU HAVE CLEARED BOTH OUR AIRCRAFT FOR THE SAME RUNWAY GOING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. WE ARE ON A COLLISION COURSE. INSTRUCTIONS, PLEASE.

Atlanta ATC: "Well bless your little hearts. And praise Jesus! Y'all be careful now and tell Allah "hey" for us -- ya hear!

It's funny, but there's no such thing as landing westbound on runway 9R. The numbers indicate directions. It needs to have one landing on 09R and the other 27L. But I do get the idea, and it is funny!

PRM,

Take a joke and make it hit a brick wall...

Thanks.... :(:(

PRM, I was going to point out the same thing the second I read it. I actually was expecting that to somehow be part of the punchline--something about Southern ATCs being so incompetent that they can't even get terrorist planes to collide properly or what not...

Todd--If the ATC doesn't even know that runway 09R is , by definition, eastbound only, I doubt very highly that they'd be able to get any plane to hit a brick wall. At least, not intentionally. :D

Besides--Why do we want them to collide at Atlanta? That would mean that we Americans would need to clean up the mess! Let's at least get them to collide at some other country's airport!
