I'm wondering what would be my best bet for some all terrain/mud tires for my st. As of now, I have on some street tires with some 20 inch black rims, but I want to go back to my stock rims with a "rugged" look. What do y'all think?

i was considering bf goodrich mud terrains but the sound and ****** braking power of them made me go with the bf goodrich all-terrains. i live in a very remote part of canada. they're very popular up here. they're not bad in the snow either, so they can hold you over if you get surprised by a storm and you don't have snow tires on yet.

BFG A/T's are good in anything EXCEPT mud. On my old '05 Trac I had Bridgestone Dueler REVO's that were great on any surface, downside is that they wear kinda fast and you'll get 30k at most out of them.

thanks for pointing that out. i don't drive through mud that often. the reason i prefer the bfg at is our st was a daily driver for a very long time, but we do like to get rugged when we travel with our truck. deepest mud i've dealt with was about ankle/calf deep and it did take a little effort to get the truck up a hill. i'd go with them if you were looking for something that will do primarily roads, will look good, but still give you the option to go down some trails

Just thought I would mention that I have had BFG All-Terrain T/As in 265/65/18 on my 07 4x4 Limited since new. I had them mounted on the stock 18" wheels by the dealer before I took delivery of the truck. I am now on my second set. The first set lasted about 65k miles. Like most my truck spends 95% of the time on paved roads but it does just fine when I use it as a hunting vehicle or need to deal with snow covered roads here in NE Ohio or west central PA.

On my '01 I started with the Michelin Cross Terrains that came on it (got about 30k out of them) then went the the Bridgestone Dueler REVO's like JohnnyO said. The Revos were a great looking tire and got through everything I threw at them (Mud/snow/sand, etc). The Stockers got me hung on a wet grass hill in the parking lot at Martinsville Speedway one time. Just Wet grass and they were spinning.

I don't recall how far the Revos got me, but when I sold the '01 it had 106k miles on it and a semi fresh set of Goodyear Fortera's on it.

On my '07 I got 26k on the stock Michelin Cross terrains and then went with the Goodyear Fortera tires. I made it from 26k all the way to 80k with them. Now I have a set of Michelin LTX A/T2's on there and they have been great so far.

My 07 Trac came with Goodyear Fortera's that were down to the wear bars by 22,000 miles (even wear on all 4 tires no alignment issues I could tell) Next up were Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's which I loved and got about 45,000 miles out of. The new "improved" A/T Revo 2 got horrible reviews on tire rack. I just put a set of Cooper Discoverer A/T 3's on and I think I found my new favorite. Consumer Reports ranked the Cooper's # 1 out of 12 different A/T tires, 4 Wheel & Off Road, Off Road magazine and Field & Stream all gave the Cooper praise for their surprising ability in mud for an A/T versus a dedicated mud tire. The Cooper tires are just as quiet as the Revos and perform just as well in my opinion.
