Almost had an existential crisis today

While out for a drive today, I noticed that a gaggle of American robins had returned. They were everywhere. A friend of mine is an ornithologist and says they fly to Brazil for the winter, then fly back in the spring to the same yard where they were hatched. Then I saw my first dead robin of the year and thought...

Been seeing/hearing robins for several days now. We also get massive flocks of starlings this time of year. Reminds me the old Hitchcock movie "The Birds". When they roost in the trees in the evening it looks like the trees have black leaves. When they fly overhead I bet you could get at least twenty with one shot from a 12 GA. :fire:

I used to shoot starlings. Then I found a baby starling and raised it as a pet. I'm on starling #2 and he's 17 years old.
